Indian weddings are big affairs where families and friends gather to celebrate all the festivities. Each ritual has some significance and there are songs to celebrate each of them. Some of these are folk songs that have been passed on to family members from our ancestors. Others are songs that have been composed for Indian movies and have become popular as wedding songs.

There are several web sites that describe in detail what the different ceremonies are. Each region has their own rituals. Some rituals are common to several states while others are celebrated specifically in that state. Even when the same rituals are performed there still can be slight variations.
